Athena, Goddess of Health

Hi! My name is Athena. I am here to share with you my first blog post regarding my health journey. For over the past nine years I have dealt with a multitude of health problems. This has inspired me to experiment with different healing modalities in search of an answer to reach the most optimal health possible. My goal for this blog is to share my journey, experimentations, and the tools along the way that have worked best for me.

Growing up, my mom always fed me and my brother healthy food. She would make us fresh vegetable juices, prepare home-cooked meals with whole, organic ingredients and never took us to fast food places. There were never chips, soda or anything highly processed lying around in our cupboards. In fact, our cupboards were filled with all kinds of herbs and supplements. This way of eating was pretty much all I knew, so I never felt like I was missing out on anything. Not to mention, my mother was (and still is) an amazing cook and knew how to make everything taste delicious!

When I was just ten years old, things changed drastically for me and my brother. For certain reasons, we both lived with my dad full-time for a few months and didn't see my mom. At this point in my life I did not know how important it was to eat quality food for good health. Could you blame me, though? I was only ten.

Long story short, the quality of food I ate on a daily basis changed and so did my quality of life. Looking back at this time in my life, I remember how different I began to feel. I would sleep for 12+ hours almost every day of the week and wake up feeling completely exhausted and fatigued despite how much sleep I had gotten. I could no longer concentrate in school and solving a simple math equation seemed to be much harder for me than the majority of my classmates. Almost everything I ate provoked a reaction. My nose would get so stuffed up that you would've thought I had the most severe cold or allergies. My joints began to crack and hurt with just simple movements. My back and neck began to ache too, so I started going to the chiropractor who told me I had scoliosis. I didn't know what any of these symptoms meant, but all I knew is that something in me had changed and I didn’t understand why. Within a few months of this diet downgrade, I became puffy and inflamed, with dark circles under my eyes.

Over the last four years of my life I have devoted a great deal of my free time researching, experimenting on myself, and learning everything I can to improve my health and well-being. I have incorporated numerous detox protocols including intravenous ozone therapy, cryotherapy, coffee enemas, liver/gallbladder flushes, infrared saunas, topical/internal use of activated charcoal, intestinal cleanses, green juice fasts, water fasts, grounding, sun-gazing at sunrise/sunset and much more. All of these things had helped in one way or another, but I never felt 100% better. I didn't give up though, so I continued my hours of researching until I had come across deuterium depletion. This by far has been one of the most effective therapies I have done for my health yet. The benefits are just about endless, but where I found the most improvement was in cognition and chronic fatigue. I believe all of these healing modalities can be very beneficial to one’s health, but healing our mitochondria truly takes health to the next level.

Through all of my trials and errors in my health journey, I am learning to become the best version of myself and I would like to share with you just how I ended up here..without having to make all of the mistakes I did. I hope you all enjoy what is to come of this blog!
